Courage to Conquer & What to Expect in 2017

When I started Islepreneur, I had one goal in mind – to work hard to do the best I can to make this thing great!

Oh boy! It was scary launching this site and going all public, but I knew, without a doubt, that is what I wanted to do and I also thought that maybe I could offer something really valuable.

Since then, I have made up my mind to INVEST time, finances and resources to ensure that I continue to learn, grow, implement new strategies and offer the best that I can to my audience.

A few weeks ago, I shared a post on things I learned in 2016 where I included the importance of networking and attending events to grow your business. In addition to those 10 important things, I also learned how absolutely necessary it is for you/me to take on new things, new opportunities and stretch ourselves to do things outside of our normal routine. This will mean being uncomfortable in some situations (not bad ones), but those that, when you sit and think about them, it makes your heart race and your palms sweaty.

In order to overcome fear, your dream must become bigger than fear. – Steve Harvey

Those are usually the situations that are meant to shape us, cause us to grow and move to another level, personally and with your business. Don’t be afraid to capitalize on those opportunities, they may never come again.

With that said, I have aggressively decided that this year, I am going to stop thinking too much about whether or not I can do things. Stop being afraid and grab hold of opportunities fitting for Islepreneur, when they come my way. This is how I’ll be doing that:

So far, for the start of the year, I have been invited to speak at two events. First, I’ll be at the St. George’s University in just over a week to be part of a panel at the SASAA Alumni Talk series called Entrepreneurship and You. Secondly, in March, I will be a guest speaker at Inspire UrBiz Antigua. I am unable to be at Antigua physically, but I’ll be doing a call-in to share how I got to where I am and some entrepreneurial tips.

This is only the start. I know there is much more to come, but I’m ready for it and going all in. Hope you’ll do the same.

I look forward to hearing how you will conquer in 2017, whether it is to grow your business or to grow personally. Feel free to share.
